On Tuesday, March 22, a group of CSSM members from the University of Pennsylvania had the great privilege to take a tour with the founder of PAR Recycling Works, Mr Maurice Jones. Maurice provided context for how e-waste recycling is done by showing off the facility and giving a glimpse into their business model, providing some entrepreneurial tips. He helped attendees gain a stronger understanding of how ordinary citizens can make a difference in e-waste recycling and in supporting minority-owned businesses and those recently incarcerated. Attendees left the tour energized and educated, leading to a new chapter in the partnership between CSSM and PAR. If anyone has any e-waste to recycle in the Philadelphia area, please check them out!
